Munchkin loves helping...it goes in stages, of course...and the activity actually needs to be 'fun' (she is only 3, after all ;D). We worked upstairs quite a bit today, and Munchkin made her Mamma proud since she was satisfied as long as she got to have a hammer in her hand :D

Finally, after a six year wait (!!!)...HEATING is being installed in our upstairs, which is the key step needed to finally get it finished!!!

A lifetime ago, I did a 6-month backpacking trip on my own around the Mediterranean. A trip I mention a lot, and keep reliving in my head...mostly because it's undoubtedly the most amazing thing I've ever accomplished. This is a gift I was given during that trip, in Tunisia.

Yes, it's true...I went a "little" crazy with the textures...but I don't have the will or energy to start over again *sigh* In my defense, though; without the textures, it's just a plate of fruit ;D (at least now, it's a really textured plate of fruit!)

I heard that there's a big storm on it's way
...with large quatities of snow.
Great.
Juuuust what we need.
More of this:

It occured to me that my photo reminds me of a painting by my favourite Finnish artist, Pekka Halonen (1865-1933)
(painting by Pekka Halonen, picture taken from http://chawedrosin.wordpress.com/2009/03/23/pekka-halonens-nature-paintings/ , where you can see a few more paintings by the same artist, as well as by many others)

Ummm..yeah...I don't actually have an anecdote for this one...maybe it can manage to speak for itself ;D

The kids went ice skating for the very first time. Ever. It didn't go quite as well as anticipated, since they were unable to move... unless they were carried and/or pushed, that is ;D

I seriously thought "tulip" was on the list...must've been dreaming...or wishful thinking or something... shouldn't it be on the list, though?? I mean, tulips are sooo gorgeous and fun to photograph!!
So, instead, I'll do the same thing as Wannabe did and use it for my "starts with T" theme! (Thankfully, it starts with T in both Swedish and English, a little extra rule I've given myself ;D)
And, oh yeah...I couldn't decide which one I liked the best, so today you get 2 of them...
Which one do YOU prefer??

After all this snow, I felt we needed a bit of colour (but not too much...we don't want to shock the system...so, for viewer "safety", I added a muted retro look ;D). We'll see what we can do about more colour tomorrow, now that we've warmed up a bit with this one...

This one's pretty self explanatory, I think:
(på rad/in a row)
Updated: for interest's sake (as per request), here's the same shot without the vignette (forgive me if it's not exactly like the first one...I had to go back to the original and edit it again, and I couldn't remember all the steps I'd used...close enough for this purpose, though, I think) . I'd be interested to know which you prefer, since vignettes are a newly discovered treat for me and I have a feeling I'll be over-using them quite a bit! :D
Here's yet another view with a (slightly) different picture, for those that might prefer the focus to be drawn to the boat docks instead of to the trees...
If you're all not too sick of this image by now ;D I'd love to hear what anyone thinks about these...which do you prefer? Where do you think the focus should be in order to get the best interpretation of the theme "på rad/in a row"? And what do you think about the sepia in this last one?...I wasn't so sure about it, but felt it needed to be warmed up, and also bring out some shadows in the snow.

Hubby was given one of those "most-popular-Christmas-gifts-of-the-year", which this year was (apparently) the Bed of Nails...
Since it's not exactly being used a lot (go figure ;D), Boy found another use for it...doll torture:

We went for a picnic ...hot chocolate and grilled hot dogs. I suppose it could be debated whether this actually fits into today's theme...but there's gotta be meat of SOME kind in these ;D

Time for Thanks
I just wanted to take a quick moment to thank everyone who stops by to take a peek at my pics...especially those of you who have left such sweet, considerate, and kind comments. Your positive feedback gives a warm glow in my heart...<3
BUT (!) please feel free to also leave constructive critisisms (kindly worded, please...my feelings are sometimes much too easily bruised! ;D). The idea of this blog is to improve my photography and I would love to hear wisdom and guidance from photographers of all 'stages'...professionals, amateurs, and those of you who don't call yourselves photographers at all, but just love looking at photographs!
We all know what we like in a picture, even though we may not know the 'technical terms' to describe what we see :D Sometimes the best comments are from the folks who "just" have 'the artistic eye'.
So, again...thank you for visiting...and for commenting!

This was taken yesterday during -31C/-24F degree temperatures, so I didn't take time to clean off the lens...which ended up producing this funny "mistake" where it looks like the rising sun is spreading pixie dust over the hay barn. The sky was such a beautiful colour, I thought it would fit perfectly for today's theme:

Munchkin's expression cracks me up...after repeatedly being told to keep her tongue INSIDE her mouth (it was -18C out, after all!), she resorted to this instead:

The neighbours came by for a visit today...my daughter and her friend dressed up as mammas and took care of the dolls. This is "L", aged 4½...practicing being an adult.
