I've been collecting this cutlery from Norway for about 15 years, receiving a fork here or a knife there for birthdays or Christmas.  Turning 40 was profitable, as I was given all 6 spoons at once!  I have just about the kindest and most generous relatives in the world, I figure, as these aren't exactly cheap :D

Today, I turn 40...

This was given to me last Friday, the last time my classmates and I were officially together at school this year (we're out doing our on the job training right now)...a really sweet and thoughtful gesture.

I suppose turning 40 can be described as turning a new leaf...

Our day yesterday started off with not only something  Boy had wished for for his birthday, but also with something mamma had been wishing for, for a while (mainly for photographic reasons, of course ;D)

This is Molson...my 16 year old cat.  He's been with me through a lot...a couple of relationships and many moves...even a trans Atlantic move since he's my Canadian boy and he's living in Finland now :D  He's strange, grumpy, distrustful of the kids, and generally anti-social with anyone but me. But, I love him so...and he's a wonderful neck warmer while I'm sitting on the couch and surfing the internet!

Something we do to decorate for Easter here in Swedish speaking Finland, is cut some small tree branches, bring them indoors and put feathers in them...a custom brought over from Sweden.

This is a project I started a year ago...it's taking FOREVER to be completed (with many months of doing nothing on it, of course ;D), but today I got close...so veeery close.  It'll be finished next week, and I'll post a pic of the finished product...any guesses??
